Comment from an Irish American
I am an Irish American whose parents came from Clare and I believe the Irish have been nothing but a great help to this country. Myself and my friends will do everything in our power to help your cause. This kind of treatment is a disgrace for a country founded on immigration. I am sure we all remember what it says on the Statue of Liberty.

A few of us here in a fishing port in south west donegal are fully supporting you and are doing all we can to highlight and support your cause. We will be bombarding our local TD's,Ministers,Senators, MEP's, radio stations and press. It is a myth that the US was founded by immigrants. All the founding fathers (with the exception of Hamilton, who was born in St.Croix of an American mother) were native-born Americans. If you claim American as founded by immigrants, you must also say the same of Ireland, since the current population is a mix of Milesian, Fir Bog, Tua DaDannon, Viking, Tinker, Jew, Scot, English, Norwegian, German, Dutch, Pakistani, French, Yankee, etc.
I am married to an Irish imigrant who has not been home in 5 years. Do u have any idea how that affects me? It breaks my heart. Everyone and anyone who has Irish ties in any shape or form should stand up and help. This needs to pass or everyone will leave and no more will come. I have lived here since 1994 and so many talented people have left because of this issue. If the people are willing to pay taxes, then let them. Everyone will benefit. I love this country I regard it as my home even though I was born in ireland. I dont want to leave but if this law isn't passed i will have to move back to Ireland with my husband. please please help this pass. Keep up the fight. I'm an Italian -Irish American both my parents are Irish my father's side and Italian my mother's side and Don't forget that the Immigrants BUILD this country! For example the Chienese The Irish, Italins etc,It's only RACIST people who don't want them to stay here if they are willing to pay taxes and be productive memember's of soceity! Then let them all in!!! From a proud Irish- Italian American!! We support you all immigrants!!
