2006 New York City Marathon

Over the past year, the struggle to for comprehensive immigration reform has seemed like a marathon. As you can see, the Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform and its many supporters are race ready and headed for the finish line.

Well done Aoife, Eileen and Carol. I saw you at the 17 mile mark and you looked fantastic. It was great to see wearing the coolest t-shirt of the year.

Thank you.

If this woman can travel from Boston and run 26km for ILIR I am sure a lot of other Irish people who are in need of green cards can get to the local events too! Wonderfull job in flying the banner for us Irish in America!....

Hi Eileen here, I want to thank everyone who came out to support Aoife, Carol and myself Sunday on the marathon route, you really helped keep us going when we were ready to quit. The shirts were read by everyone, runners and supporters, trying to explain what we were fighting for got more difficult as the miles went on but we did our best.
Best quote of the day was in the Bronx by an older gentleman, it goes as follows and I quote" F@#k the Irish, legalize marajuana you look like you could do with some, relax!!!!!"I laughed for the next two miles.
