Harkin meets with Hilary Clinton in Washington
Sligo Leitrim Independent Deputy, Marian Harkin, has met this afternoon with US Senator and Presidential candidate, Hilary Clinton, in Washington.
Issues discussed included immigration, links between the European Democratic Party, of which Deputy Harkin is a member, and its American counterpart, and Senator Clinton's bid for the US Presidency.
Senator Clinton told Deputy Harkin that she supported the campaign underway to have the thousands of undocumented Irish in the US legalised.
Both are among those taking place in a huge march to highlight the issue, which is taking place in Washington around now.
Deputy Harkin says the support pledged by Senator Clinton is very significant.
